Born in Queens, New York, Rushir grew up across Long Island, Ohio, and North Carolina. He graduated from Panther Creek High School before attending Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business, where he studied finance and supply chain management. He explored his interests through peer tutoring, internships, and work with his father at RealtyBlocks.
Rushir was remembered for his mischievous humor, competitive spirit, and thoughtful nature. His family affectionately called him their “Chhupa Rustam,” describing someone quietly capable who always had another surprise waiting. He enjoyed pickleball, fitness, video games, cars, technology, and riding his Aprilia motorcycle.
Beyond his interests, Rushir expressed love through everyday acts of kindness, from helping without being asked to remembering small details about the people around him. He shared a particularly close bond with his older brother, Pushkar, and adored the family dog, Cripto.
He is survived by his parents, Himabindu Pothireddy and Hareesh Sai; his brother, Pushkar; his grandparents; extended family; and many friends.
A viewing is scheduled for October 17 at Wake Memorial Park Cemetery in Cary, followed by a funeral service.
Rushir’s warmth, laughter, and quiet generosity will remain treasured memories for those who loved him. His life, though heartbreakingly short, leaves a meaningful reminder that love often speaks loudest through the smallest gestures.
